My heart bleads for mumbai

I spent some of the best time in my life in Mumbai (then Bombay); albeit it was too short I went to office in Mumbai and the city taught me a lot of things about life; aggression, schedule, competitiveness and most importantly friendliness and compassion. It breaks my heart to see it burn and be affected like the way it did

I was distraught when I saw New York city burn on 9/11 and the reaction was no less intense during the last Mumbai tragedy. But this attack just tears you apart for the intensity and the targets. Watching CNN with the live coverage is disturbing at the least and traumatic at its worst.

As a bright eyed adolescent I remember sitting at Gateway to India and watching the magnificent edifice of the Taj Mahal in awe. As a grown up, I remember enjoying my stay in the fabulous historic land mark and the phenomenal restaurants. The Oberoi doesn't carry the same nostalgia or awe, but the edifice was still grand and the restaurants equally delicious. It is truly sad to see the landmarks defaced and destroyed by mindless terrorism

It is disturbing to find that cars are blowing up on the highway that I traveled to see my friends only a few months back and being in awe that Mumbai as a city and India as a country is progressing towards modern transportation!

If there is anyone in the world that can recover from such trauma it is Mumbaikers and I am proud to be one and my prayers are with each and every one of them.

God bless Mumbai and god bless Mumbaikers!
